Every underwater photographer has his „thing“ and a certain way they get comfortable with shooting subjects. For most photographers and when it comes to macro, it’s the black background. For me, it’s Bokeh and shooting with an open aperture. I never get bored of this technique and the creamy background but in order to add a bit more color to my pictures, I thought I’d try another more creative approach.
November is probably the best month to see the biggest variety of critters here in Lembeh. It’s also the time of the year when conditions are perfect to dive in the North of Sulawesi, around Bangka Island for example.
With tons of different kind of nudis in the Lembeh Strait, I find it hard sometimes to get excited about the „sluggy stuff“. However, there’s certain species which, even if you’re not a nudi lover, are just spectacular. Sometimes it’s their funky colors, sometimes their incredible shapes, just like the Miamira Alleni which Joni Toy spotted the other day.
