It is recommended to bring sufficient insect repellent and comfortable clothes to cover most of you body in the evenings. You might want to stop by your doctor for advice before travelling to any tropical region. In case of choosing to take any Malaria medicament, we highly recommend against Lariam as its secondary effects can ruin your diving.
What is the best time to dive in Lembeh Strait?
Due to the protected nature of the Strait, it makes it perfect for all year round diving. Although late November to March is considered to be the raining season, it seldom rains all day long. Rain might deter visibility at some of the dive sites, but there are plenty to choose from which will not be affected. Dives will never be cancelled due to weather conditions.
Water temperatures in the strait can vary from 26-29 Degrees Celsius. We recommended to use at least a 3.5mm wetsuit, although you may need extra protection during the months of July and August, when water temperature drops down to 26-27C.
How far is the nearest decompression chamber?
Less than 50km in the city of Manado. Although unlikely to happen in Lembeh due to the nature of the dives, recompression chamber procedures and a emergency plan is available for our customers in any case. |
