How do I get to NAD-lembeh? Manado airport is serviced daily with more than 10 flights from Jakarta and other cities such as Denpasar (Bali), Makassar , Surabaya and Balikpapan. There are 6 weekly flights (M,T,W,Th,F,Sat) from Singapore direct to Manado served by Silk Air. Air Asia connects from Kuala Lumpur to Manado on Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday. Airport transfer over land to the port city of Bitung takes approximately one hour through breathtaking views of volcanoes, jungles and small villages. From Bitung it's only a 10min boat ride to our resort. We provide boat transfers from Pelelangan to the resort. We offer an airport pickup and drop off service to and from the resort, if you need transport arrangements please let us know during your reservation inquiry. What Voltage is at the resort? All rooms are equipped with 220V round (European style) two prong plugs. 110V is available on request in the camera room. There is a charging station with plenty of plugs, a computer, card readers, and CD's and DVD's on request. Camera room is available to all guests 24 hours. We have a voltage regulator in the computer room for charging batteries, cameras, and computers. Should I take any medical precautions? It is recommended to bring sufficient insect repellent and comfortable clothes to cover most of you body in the evenings. You might want to stop by your doctor for advice before travelling to any tropical region. It is recommended to bring a supply of general antibiotics and ear drops for any diving holiday as familiar medications may not be available in Indonesia. If you choose to take Malaria medication, we highly recommend against Lariam as its secondary effects can ruin your diving. What is the best time to dive in Lembeh Strait? Due to the protected nature of the Strait, diving is available all year round. Although late November to March is considered to be the rainy season, it seldom rains all day long. Rain might deter visibility at some of the dive sites, but there are plenty to choose from which will not be affected. What are typical water temperatures in Lembeh? The strait can vary from 26-29 degrees Celsius or 76-84 degrees Fahrenheit. We recommended to use at least a 3mm full wetsuit, although you may need extra protection during the months of July and August, when water temperature drops down to 26-27C (76-79F). Where is the nearest recompression chamber? There is a recompression chamber at the main hospital in the city of Manado around 90 minutes from the resort. The chamber is run by a professional company (Hyperbaric Health Australia) who operate recompression chambers throughout the Pacific area. Are there other activities around the resort? Absolutely, we have several kayaks that are free to use, there are several trails around the resort for nature walks, we can also organize day trips to Tongkoko Nature Reserve, Bitung, or Manado. |
How are we Different?
Our resort is situated in a small private bay, with almost no stairs to climb and everything in a compact setting – you don’t have to walk very far to get from your room to the restaurant to your diveboat.
For our prices, no one can match our facilities and location, we are all hot water and all aircon, plus we have a nice private beach. We are also around the corner from the noise and light pollution of Bitung City.
Our ‘long table’ dining experience means you have no time to be shy! People always make new friends when they stay at NAD!
