WHALESHARK, RHINOPIA, SARGASSUM FROGFISH AS HIGHLIGHTS
This month’s highlights are truly special. It doesn’t happen every day that we see a Whaleshark, Rhinopia and lots of Sargassum Frogfish. Same goes for Flamboyant Cuttlefish hatching, enjoy the short video below:[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRp3ejumS68″ align=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
BIG FISH SURPRISE
The “biggest” surprise this month was to have a baby Whale Shark swim passed us. I had just finished shooting a little crab and called over dive guide Stenli. Looking at him, I realised the Remoras surrounding him, immediately follows by a gentle giant. It doesn’t happen every day that you see a Whale Shark when diving in Lembeh! Only two of our guests were lucky enough to see the big fish at “Makawide Pier”. It was not in a rush, just cruising along next to us divers and quite close to the sandy bottom at 18m depths.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/fL5nwjedPoU” align=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
FROGFISH AND CEPHALOPODS IN ABUNDANCE
The water temperature has dropped a little which is very early this year. It has brought the Sargassum Frogfish together with the Sargassum sea grass into our bay. We’ve also spotted tons of cephalopods (Mototis, Blue-Ringed Octopus and mainly Coconut Octopus). Although we have seen less Frogfish than in the previous month, there’s still a few Hairy Frogfish around. Also Giant, Warty and Painted Frogfish. Different species of Gobies can be seen all year around. And with a bit of patience you’ll be able to get real close for some great shots![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”8584″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”8581″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”8592″ img_size=”large” onclick=”link_image”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”8590″ img_size=”large” onclick=”link_image”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”8583″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”8577″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”8578″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
NEW CRITTERS ON BLACKWATER NIGHT DIVES
We have seen a few more new critters during our Blackwater Night Dive Week. My personal highlight being the Bornella Nudibranch, which was free swimming in the water column. It was also the first time I got to photograph a larvae Crocodile Flathead. You just never know what you will see on your next adventure when diving in Lembeh![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”8580″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”8579″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_text_separator title=”Why Dive with NAD-Lembeh?”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
