We’re pleased to announce that professional Mackerel photographer, Alex Tattersall has joined the judging panel for our December 2013 shootout.

Alex has placed in the NHM / BBC wildlife photo competition, which is the pinnacle of Natural History photo competitions (aside from the underwater.kr one, of course).  He is also the chief for Nauticam UK, and spends most weekends travelling to hot UK divespots in his Robin-Reliant to sell his wares to unsuspecting divers (http://www.uwvisions.com/).

We hope that watching Alex ‘walk the floor’ during the shootout, selling anything and everything he can will help ignite the sales instinct in the contestants and help them get top dollar for their best shots. When not selling UW photo equipment, Alex dreams of the perfect shot of a Lionfish surrounded by glassfish and silversides, juxtaposed against a school of mackerel in the background.  Hopefully he will find it in Lembeh 😉

Here is a selection of Alex’s best shots, you may notice a certain theme:

Of course I am being very cruel to Alex, he also takes photos of Lionfish:

But in all seriousness, here is his flickr:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/alextattersall/ lots of lovely photos here and Alex will be happy to help people with any equipment / technique questions.

Welcome to the panel, Alex.
